New Horizons of South Florida Hosts Charity Poker Tournament
New Horizons of South Florida will host a poker tournament on Wednesday, May 18 at 7 p.m. Funds raised at the event will benefit the American Cancer Society and South Florida Hospice. It will take place at the Hard Rock Casino Poker Room in Hollywood.

PLANTATION, FL, April 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New Horizons Learning Centers of South Florida will host a charity poker tournament on May 18, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Hard Rock Casino Poker Room. Money raised through the event will be donated directly to the American Cancer Society and South Florida Hospice.

The "buy in" donation is $150, and there will be prizes awarded during the tournament for first-, second- and third-place players. First-place prize will be $1,000; second-place prize will be $500; and third-place prize will be a netbook. The format of the tournament is Texas Hold 'Em Poker.

Funds raised during the tournament will be donated to American Cancer Society's General Cancer research fund. Funds will also be sent to Kids to R.O.C.K. Camp: "A Place Where Kids With Cancer Can Just Be Kids." R.O.C.K. stands for Reaching Out to Cancer Kids, and is a very special summer camp for kids and teenagers battling cancer. In addition, donations will be made to the Florida Breast Cancer group, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation, Memorial Cancer Institute and South Florida Hospice.
